As of yesterday, I am no longer approaching 60. It has arrived. Time continues to move at a greater pace every year and these first 60 have flown by.

I can feel him starting to creep on me, particularly this time of year. The days are short with little sunshine. I spend a lot of time indoors. I start to get antsy and more anxious.

Death is a hard subject to talk about and a hard thing to process. Particularly, when it is unexpected or comes too early. It is difficult to know how to comfort loved ones or to know how to move forward. After the initial shock and pain, there is a void that seems to always exist.
Approaching 60 usually means you struggle to put anything on your Christmas list. When family asks you “what do you want for Christmas” it is usually a struggle to come up with anything that you really want or need.
