A return to being a bachelor.
My wife and our daughter Lea headed for Florida this past Friday to celebrate Lea’s last spring break, as she will be graduating from Ohio University in May. They headed to the St. Petersburg area to be close to our other daughter, Emmy who moved to Florida this past summer.
I was really glad they decided to take the trip. I know it will be positive mother-daughter time and soon these trips will be harder and harder to come by.
We are blessed with four great kids and it is a pleasure seeing them grow and become adults and make their own way in life. We have to take advantage of time with them when we can get it.
It is not often that I spend this much time alone in our house. It has been really quiet and it reminds me of when I lived alone for several years over 15 years ago. The days go pretty quickly, but the evenings seem especially quiet.
It might be a good thing though, as I have completed almost every task around the house that I had been putting off, just to keep myself busy and occupied.
My pal Thomas has been keeping me company. He told his Mom that he “better go check on Pap because he is all alone.” There has been several happy meals and maybe even a new toy this week?
I will be glad to get my partner back Friday night. The house seems full when she is here. I would like to say that I would get along just fine without her, but that would be a lie!
